ABOUT US
OPRD was founded on 15th August 2010 as a legal entity registered by the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) with registration number 400 as a non-profit making, non-political and non-Governmental organization. OPRD is registered in South Sudan in accordance with the provision of the Non-Governmental Organizations Co-ordination Act, 2013, Part III- Registration and Licensing of Non-Governmental Organizations, of the Laws of South Sudan. OPRD provides Livelihoods support, Peace initiatives, Environmental support, and Emergency Relief related activities to Refugees, Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and hosting communities while mainstreaming protection (child protection and GBV/SGBV prevention) in all its activities.

i. To enhance peace building, human rights, democracy promotion, advocate for and promote gender parity, girl-child education, and their full participation in Society.
ii. To improve self-sufficiency and reduce malnutrition and food insecurity among the vulnerable people (women, youth, in South Sudan).
iii. To increase access to quality education for children of the poor and vulnerable citizens and enhance skills and literacy provision hence employment opportunities for youth and adults.
iv. To advance sustainable access to safe water and sanitation services for men, women, and children in rural and semi urban areas in the Country.
v. To increase access to primary and public health care services to vulnerable people and locations in the Country and strengthen the capability of communities to cope with and manage impending disasters.
vi. To build the capacity of local CBOs, women groups, youth groups in better management and service delivery practices, and to protect and improve the dignity of vulnerable populations as IDPs, women, children and marginalized groups.
